Mallard Computer, Inc., an IT corporation located in Hot Springs, Arkansas, has decided to merge WeatherQuack.com, the weather community developed by WeatherMallard, Mallard Computer’s weather service division, under WeatherTogether.net. The merge will allow both teams of contributors to combine their efforts under a single, solid, rapidly-growing weather community platform for the future. WeatherMallard will cease its weather services operations, with Mallard Computer to cease business operations by the end of October 2017.
“We have had a fun time launching WeatherQuack over the past summer” said Nathan Parker, Mallard Computer and WeatherMallard’s President/CEO. “However, with my personally starting a PhD program next year and with Mallard Computer dramatically scaling back in business operations, the time has come for Mallard Computer to cease business operations. Additionally, our fantastic team of daily contributors on WeatherQuack.com would have a better opportunity to submit weather reports to a wider audience by combining our efforts of WeatherQuack.com into another weather community platform such as WeatherTogether.net. With WeatherTogether.net, our team of contributors will be able to combine forces with another solid team of top-notch, respected weather contributors in a solid, stable, fast-growing weather community platform that will allow for years worth of weather blogging fun. I am excited to be joining the WeatherTogether.net team in an IT administrative capacity and look forward to a smooth, seamless transition and integration of the two websites.”
Charlie Phillips, one of WeatherTogether.net’s chief administrators and contributors, stated he is excited about WeatherQuack.com’s team of contributors merging under WeatherTogether.net, and he personally looks forward to seeing where this new integration will take WeatherTogether.net. He personally welcomes the entire team of contributors of WeatherQuack.com over to WeatherTogether.net.
Members of WeatherQuack.com will need to register for a free account and personal blog on WeatherTogether.net to begin contributing on WeatherTogether.net. All of the existing blog content of WeatherQuack.com will be merged into WeatherTogether.net, allowing for no loss of blog content after the integration of the two websites. WeatherQuack.com will continue to run parallel to WeatherTogether.net until all regular contributors of WeatherQuack.com are successfully contributing to WeatherTogether.net, in which the remaining content will be merged and WeatherQuack.com will cease operations. The additional features of WeatherQuack.com (including Live Chat, community guidelines, support/feedback contact forms, etc.) will also be migrated over to WeatherTogether.net before WeatherQuack.com ceases operations.
Due to the fact that both WeatherQuack.com and WeatherTogether.net have operated as hobbyist weather community websites in a not-for-profit basis, the merge of WeatherQuack.com under WeatherTogether.net is a website merge, not a corporate merger. No financial assets of Mallard Computer will be changing hands during the website integration with WeatherToghether.net, although select website assets that were formerly used on WeatherQuack.com will be making the transition and integration with WeatherTogether.net.
